Long hair style ideas??

I want them to be simple. I'm tired of it being straightened. I want it to look nice, but I don;t have time to spend hours on it. It appears that you just need to comb it differently so your pic will look like the 2nd pic.

Print the second pic (the style you like) and take it to your barber. S/he can show you how to style your hair.

New long hair style?

I want a new hair style, with a longish swooping fringe from my right hand side to left, that ends in a soft point, and it being feathered/shaped but not from my face, from about half way down my neck. The best way i can describe it is to say a youngish Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) from eastenders hair style, but can only find pics with her having a normal fringe. I decided to grow out my hair and its not past my shoulders yet.. My company is pretty lax on appearance. Polo shirt - khakis kinda place. Software Company. Upside - attention from ladies

Downside - that's the only hairstyle you'll be wearing when it comes to looking professional and it's partly considered to be a ';badass'; thing...I don't know why, maybe because it's not a conventional thing for males to do anymore, and only those a bit wild/anarchist whatever else wear that. Well, only my rocker/anarchist/punk make friends have long hair, that's it.

Also, a tip - always make sure it's not greasy. Nothing's more disgusting than greasy hair, and on long hair it shows, since you can't just style it in 2 min like you can do ith short hair.

I agree that long layers would look best. Perhaps the layers could start around your chin, and the longest layers could go to your chest. I think that style would be more flattering than really long hair that's all one length.

and after your brsuh your hair put gel in it, and brush it through.

also, i sometimes put ym hair in a braid when its damp to keep it form getting tangled while it dries.

It is does not turly matter to me I like a girl or love a girl for who she is not what she looks like.
Personally I like Long hair, but some girls can pull the short hair look, but not many.
I prefer long hair- because short hair makes their heads look oversized, which really bothers me. However, some women can pull it off...but other than that, I am going to be attracted to longer haired women-but not to the point where they can use their hair as toliet paper...shoulders are good.
In general I like medium length hair, usually around the shoulders, so I guess that could be considered long. Some girls look great with short styles, but if its too short, like boy short, I don't like that.

I had the same problem my hair was about half way down my back and i didnt want to cut it at all I was so scared. It took me a while but I finally got layers and angles and LOVE it. I would get them raised up about a inch every time I went to get my hair cut and now I love my hair and am changing the style all the time. Also, it might help to ask your hairdresser what she thinks would look good on you like what styles. Because two of my friends have similar hair cuts and I think it looks better on one of them but it still looks good on both. And just remember to trust your self and your hair will grow back and its better to give it a try then wishing that you did get more cut off!!Long hair style suggestions?

Have some mid-length choppy layers put in. Then because it's naturally wavy you can scrunch it with mousse and it should look really nice! You could also try som shorter layers of a fringe around your face to make your style more interesting.

Dude..sorry i am a guy and am still answering you coz i started sporting long hair since the last 6 months.

The ground rule is that you need to have a good hair stylists to style your hair and start shampooing and conditioning your hair everyday. If you are not ready to maintain your hair you would only be seen as a rogue..

I shampoo %26amp; condition my hair everyday...get it trimmed every 30 days and keep changing the style a little bit. I wouldn't say it made me a rockstar....but people do notice your hair and pass compliments. Most compliments have been good.

Nevertheless you should try it out and check it. Retain it only if you personally like it and gives you a high. If it makes you confident getting girls to like you is just a resultant of your confidence.

I really don't suggest pulling all your hair up, such as pony tail, I've tried that before and ended up having a weird photo of mine....if you want to tie it up, you can tie up half upper part of your hair or separate your hair into several vertical parts, twist each part and pin it(just upper part of ur hair)....leave some hair dangle at the sides of your face and it would be better if you have side-parted fringe...usually straight hairstyle makes us looks younger, but if you want to look elegant try curling only the tips of your hair and you can also try pin up some of the curls...

Long hair styling tips for men?

I've been growing my hair for about a year now and its getting quite long!

I've got wavey hair but if I blow dry it after a shower it goes almost straight. Normally I just let it air dry and tie it back.

I'm going to a wedding on saturday and want to slick back my hair. Problem is when I put gel in it, my hair goes curly.

Is there anyway of slicking back wavey hair? I can borrow hair straighteners if needed.

Your best option is to get a falt iron/straightener. All you do is blow dry it (that's your best option but you can let it air dry too) and then pull half of it up and flat iron the part you left down. Then, let a little more hair go and flat iron that. Keep doing it until all is flat ironed. Then, brush your hair backwards. The best product to get for slicking it back is pomade. They even make different types to help slick your hair back. Take a little amount and rub in your hands then smooth your hair back. You can just straighten it and pull it back. If you want it to look shiny and slicked then put some Jon Frieda Frizz Ease serum in it before you flat iron it, it helps keep it shiny and straight, and veryyy shiny.

I would not cut my hair short.. But try cutting it in long layers...instead and deal with that..

In to days society, the young girls are following a pattern of short hair, because its easy and they are on the go..Not true for all women.

Dont worry! i have the same problem too. So what i do is i put my hair in a bun or i will part it to a side and pin it half way back andput it in a side ponytail. It looks pretty. And it will definitly suit ur fce.
If you get layers they will make your face seem fuller. You could also try an angle and/or side bangs too. Ask your hairstylist what they think

I had the exact same problem! I had long hair which I wanted to style but I only ever found mid-length cuts.

Then I went to cuts both ways and they did a beautiful job. They thinned my hair out, layered it and gave me a side-fringe.

my hair is light brown and about 3 inches above my butt, so it is reallly long lol, and my hair is probly the best thing i have bc i always get complements on it, i crunch it all the time which makes it look curly and really nice (suposably) lol but i do that every day, and when i streaghten it, it being so long makes it kinda flat even though i have layers and all, so does anyone know any hair style i can do when i streaghten it or anything to make it look better bc crunching it evry day getss a little boring :P

you could use your straightener at a curved angle to make it curled then take your hands and pull the curl through so it separates and looks like a soft wide curl like the style that is in for a lot of people.
sleep on it wet, it'll get really curly and nice--

consider using styling products, they help a lot-- to make it really soft, use Moroccan oil- its amazing product,i swear by it and this isnt an ad

You should straighten your hair. Then put a clip in it. Or do a half hair up ponytail. And then if you have side bangs, DO NOT clip them. Search in google for more, or go on Herbal Essences for ideas.
use your straightners to curl your hair just gently twist em through your hair, i do it all the time with my pubes. or get a pair of scissors and cut it off

Do a pony tail. Put your finger through from the top of the pony tail, down through, next to the scalp. Pull the loose hair up through and over the top of the band, splay the hair out. You can buy tools to do this style, but it is just as easy with your finger.... bit difficult to explain..... lol!

French plaits are easy on long hair, just takes lots of practice to do it to yourself, smaller pieces of hair into each section looks better than big pieces.

A simple French pleat. Scoop hair as if you are going to put a low pony tail in, twist the hair, and use a big hair clip and clip up. You can then make spikes etc, at the top with gel etc.

I used to have long hair, and mine is a straight as a die, but still managed lots and lots of styles.

I have the same style of hair and I wore a great hairstyle once recommended to me by a fashion runway hairstylist. I'll do my best to explain it.

Start by sectioning your hair in two halves horizontally and pull each section into a ponytail. The top halve should be slightly larger than the bottom and should be about where you would put your ponytail regularly. The bottom halve should be a low ponytail so that basically you have two ponys one on top of the other. Make sure that you keep the two relatively close together to help with the next steps.

Now, pull the end of the top ponytail underneath the bottom ponytail and secure with bobby pins. If someone looks at you from the side it will look like a loop. The idea is to hide the bottom pony tail. Now, take the bottom tail and split it in two sections. Fold the right halve throught the loop you just made on the right side and do the same for the left halve. Let some of the ends fall out. You shoudl now have what looks like a ribbon tied into a bow.

For extra effect, leave out a few pieces of hair before you start and curl them. Also you can wrap a piece of hair around the top ponytail so everything is hidden from view.

You could sleep with loose braids in ur hair (wet) then take them out in the mornig for loose waves.

Here are some other ideas:

take a small front section of ur hair, twist it, poof it, then clip it in place.

Buy a few cute patterned headbands

Wear ur hair down with a flower tucked behind ur ear.

Wear ur hair in a cute messy bun (add a headband to be extra trendy)

What would also look cute is if u did it in a low cute side ponytail.

Wow!! Most stylist either run or charge a ton for hair like urs bc of the texture and length but some things that u can do at home include pin- ups and buns. Im not sure if ur hair is too long for this but cut off a sock at the toe, roll it up as tight as u can. It should look like a donut when ur done.Slide it on ur ponytail and cover it all the way around and put a rubberband on it. Thats something easy and neat if ur into it. Other than that try clips and clamps.Comb ur hair back and twist it and pin it that way. There arent many options for long hair.Most people just play it up with layers and color....hope that helped!!

Step 1: Take a shower/Get your hair wet

Step 2: Hairspray it, WITHOUT putting any kind of brush in it.

Step 3: Fluff it.

Step 4: Wait about 30 minutes, then hairspray it again.

=3 Then you can do whatever, and it'll still look cute.

try leaving the back down and pin the sides back.. that way its out of your face, but still down.. it will give you a new look... and if you feel up to it give your hair a quick curl..

I have waist length long hair, almost a couple inches past my bum, and I have almost no idea what to do with it. I do not want to cut it and I have no curling or straightning irons. I went through the same thing you did, very hard to keep the oil out, no matter how much shampoo I used. So I just shaved it very short, (6 on top and 4 on sides) and now I style it. Most girls out their love guys with short hair and who take care of it and style it. This is just from my experiences.

Hi cyncyn, Well I don't know of any webs and I have studied the 40's era and I am sorry to upset you but there were really no ladies that wore their hair down if long. The longest was shoulder length and then it was a fluffly curl with a tight updo on the sides (like half up half down). Yes! I'm tired of the 60s and 70s looks - we need something new. Long hair only looks good on certain celebs like Jessica Biel and Gwyneth Paltrow. Halle Berry for sure needs to go back to her original short hair - now she looks 'generic.' Cameron Diaz looked best in her 'Something About Mary' hair. I think they believe that long hair equals youth, but in some cases it can make them look older.

Yeah so basically I have had very long hair throughout my highschool years and I want to start college with a somewhat cleaner cut. I recently got 4 inches cut off so it is fairly passed my shoulders at the moment.

i have long brown wavy/curly hair. it only curls in some parts, and only gets wavy in some parts, and other times its straight with just a little bit of wave. the top layer tends to be straight with just a little wave, the next layer tends to by wavy, and some parts of the bottom layer tend to be curly. sometimes if i use products i can get the whole thing to be curly, but not the back. i do straighten my hair but don't want to cause too much damage by straightening it.

get a layerd look. i had a shag cut once and loved it. it added so much volume. i just scrunched it up in my hands while it was still damp ( i would dry it half way first) and sometimes used a defuser to aid natural body. my hair is stick straight but that did the trick.

I need long hair styles!!?

i have really long curly hair - past my bum!! i always have to tie it up in pony and plat it so it doesn't get knotted. i'm soo bored of that hairstyle though! any good ideas without making it knotted and unbearable? it does get frizzy too. it's sort of wavy until i get to the ends where it's really curly. i want to cut it but i'm not allowed and i can't have a fringe yet :(I need long hair styles!!?

headbands, Clips, High ponytails, braids, head scarves, side parts, cliping the middle top of your hair back, using mousse and gel are all styles, or you can straighten it.

I know your not allowed to cut it. but if you were then maybe a bit more than a trim.

you could also put lots of conditioner in. but not on the top of your head or it will go greasy :)

In need of long hair styles??

this is the first time i have had long hair since i was probably 10 yrs old, and now i am halfway to 50, so the only thing i know what to do with my hair is pull it back in a pony tail.

so what i am looking for here is hair styles to do with my hair, i have no clue on what to do with it, if you could provide a website or pictures that would be excellent. as well as details on how to accomplish the style. i would GREATLY appreciate it, i am sick of being plain jane. ha.

but If u r 50 I think u should have short hair it gives u a great personality from the first impression of people
i am at the same stage you are and i two ideas for you. i had my hair dresser cut a side bange and long layers for volume and with that i can flat iron my hair pin straight or i use a 1.5 or 2 in barrel sized curling iron and take sections fro the bottom first and curl and then do the top sections. and u can long flowing curls. very beautiful and only takes like 15 miins after blow dry.
First go to walgreens and get some beauty magazines and look at pictures of women with long hair and with your hair texture that appeal to you and bring that photo to a stylist. They can tell you how the hair should be shaped to compliment you best.

I have waist length, thick hair, and although I like having it loose it's not very practical. Aside from simple pony tails and braids, what other hair styles can I try?

You could try a fish tail braid or bun.

The modern bun, or chignon, is a favorite hairstyle among fashionable women. It's surprisingly quick and easy, and it's sure to win you a few admiring glances.

Instructions

鈥TEP 1: Begin with clean, dry, tangle-free hair. You may opt to blow curly or wavy hair straight for a smoother look. Work a little mousse through your hair and tame any flyaway hair with a drop of anti-frizz serum before starting your chignon.

鈥TEP 2: Brush your hair back into a low ponytail. Shorter side layers can be pinned back with jeweled hair pins or a head band. Get a firm grip around the base of the ponytail and use your other hand to twist the tail into a tight spiral.

鈥TEP 3: Hold the base of the ponytail with one hand, then lift the tail straight up with the other. Begin to coil it clockwise around the base. When you've made half of a circle, release the hand holding the base and use it to hold the forming bun as you continue to coil the tail of the chignon.

鈥TEP 4: Complete one rotation - a little more if you have longer hair - then tuck the end of the tail under the chignon. If your hair is long enough, you might be able to push the tail through the bun and make a knot.

鈥TEP 5: Secure the chignon using a few prong-shaped bobby pins or a hair stick. Push one pin through at any outside edge, collecting a small amount of the bun as you make the insertion. Secure the opposite side with a second pin. If you're using a hair stick, push the tip up through the right corner of your chignon, so that a thin flat layer rests on top of the stick. Rotate the stick 180 degrees and push it gently through the base of the bun. As the stick begins to emerge, hook a small amount of hair on the underside of the left corner, then center the stick.

Tips %26amp; Warnings

鈥et your fingers do the work. With a little practice they'll learn where to put all of the things you can't see. Look at the final results and let your fingers feel areas that might need an adjustment.

鈥o not pull or twist your hair too hard - hairs might break or fall out.

鈥ake care not to poke your scalp when inserting pins and hair sticks. If you encounter any resistance, remove the fastener and begin again.
